Leading action camera manufacturer Drift Innovation have announced a partnership with the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship which will see them become the official on-board camera supplier to the series for 2018. Michael Cullen leads the way after a hectic 'The Trailer Company' Fiesta ST Championship opening weekend at Mondello Park on April 14th & 15th. There were three different winners from the closely contested races, as the series kicked off the new season with its first ever triple header.Saturday's opening race went to Cullen, who converted his pole position into a lead which he held for the duration of the race. Mark Johnston took his maiden race win as the Patch Tyre Equipment Fiesta Zetec Championship kicked off 2018 at Mondello Park with three races on April 14th & 15th, but it is Owen Purcell who leads the championship after the opening weekend as he clinched the other two victories.Purcell started 2018 as championship favourite following some impressive 2017 performances but found himself second to Johnston at the end of qualifying, with William Kellett third. Mondello Park's National Track will host two days of Car Racing action this coming weekend as ten Irish Championships commence their 2018 campaigns. The new season will begin with a nineteen race programme on Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th, featuring everything from One-Make Fiesta Racing to the mighty BOSS Ireland single seaters.The season opener will be the first of four two day events scheduled for 2018 which will see racing take place on three different track layouts. Just over one month after its originally scheduled start date, the 2018 'Parts for Cars' Irish Rallycross Championship will finally get the green light at Mondello Park this Sunday, April 8th. The weather put paid to the original season opener, but the season will still have a six date calendar with this weekends rescheduled event.Sunday's season opener will run on the familiar clockwise Mondello Park Rallycross Track which is the first of four different circuit layouts to be used this season. Mondello Park has taken the decision today to cancel the opening round of the 'Parts for Cars' Irish Rallycross Championship which was scheduled for this coming Sunday, March 4th. The decision has been taken due to uncertainty regarding the weather conditions on Sunday and the need to avoid the inconvenience to travelling competitors, marshals and officials, if it became necessary to cancel closer to the event.
