Changeable weather conditions at the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship at Mondello Park on June 22nd and 23rd, led to changeable results as Luke Johnston mastered the conditions to take his first Superbike wins on the National Track while Supersport produced three first time winners. Johnston held the lead of the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship as the series headed back to the Mondello Park National Track. This weekend, June 22nd and 23rd, the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship battles will continue on the National track layout. The Superbike and Supersport  riders will contest three more rounds, as the series moves towards its half way point. The championship is currently led by Antrim's Luke Johnston whose consistency over the first six races has helped him to move ahead of reigning double champion Richie Ryan. 2018 'Young Racer of the Year' award winner Caolán Irwin achieved his best result of the season so far when he took a podium finish at Brands Hatch over the weekend of June 15th and 16th. Riding in round four of the British Superstock 600 championship, the Donegal based rider took third place on his Kawasaki 636 to equal his previous best finish in the extremely competitive championship. Car Race action returns to Mondello Park, following a two month break, on Saturday and Sunday June 8th & 9th, as the Motor Enthusiasts Club organise a two day event with a difference. Caolán Irwin, the reigning Masters Superbike Championship 'Young Racer of the Year' put in a very strong performance at Donington Park over the weekend of May 25th and 26th. Racing in Round 3 of the British Superstock 600 Championship the twenty one year old took his first points of the season with a sixth place finish on his Mondello Park, Dawn International, EICL and British Superbike Championship backed Kawasaki. Having last won a Masters race at the end of the 2015, Brian McCormack returned to the winners circle in emphatic fashion as he dominated the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship at Mondello Park over the weekend of May 11th & 12th. The Tramore rider picked up six wins from six races taking victory in all three Superbike encounters and the full compliment of Supersport wins.
