Japfest at Mondello Park is undoubtedly the biggest and best Japanese car show in Ireland with 2019’s show promising to be the best yet! With an average audience over the past three years of 15,000 car enthusiasts and spectators alike.
The main element of this year’s event is the ‘Show and Shine’. You can expect to see over 650 high quality show cars on display on Sunday 22nd September along with over 50 of Ireland’s finest Japanese Car Clubs on display in Mondello Park’s paddock area.
Not content with being Ireland’s biggest car show, JAPFEST 2019 now aims for the title of ‘biggest drift event in the world’ as the Link ECU DGX concludes an incredible year of action alongside the Drift Masters GP European championship.
45 of Europe’s best drivers, representing 20 nations, will invade Mondello Park to fight the Irish on the infamous and highly dangerous ‘Global Warfare’ layout. Not for the faint-hearted!

❓What is JAPFEST?
➡ JAPFEST is Round 5 of the Extreme Drifting Championship. Not content with being Ireland’s biggest car show, JAPFEST 2019 now aims for the title of ‘biggest drift event in the world’ as the Link ECU Drift Games Extreme concludes an incredible year of action alongside the champions league of European drifting, The Drift Masters European Championship.
45 of Europe’s best drivers, representing 20 nations, will invade Mondello Park to fight the Irish on the infamous and highly dangerous ‘Global Warfare’ layout. The Irish have played top dog in European drifting for the last number of years, so will need all the home support they can get to stay in that position.
❓Sounds good, where is it on?
➡JAPFEST takes place in Mondello Park, Donore, Co. Kildare. Please note, the entrance is via gate 4. Follow signage erected locally or on Google Maps.
❓When does the show take place?
➡The show takes place on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd September 2019, it is open to the public from 9am to 5pm. Traders and show cars must arrive between 8am and 11am. Please aim to get there as early as possible to avoid delays at peak times.
❓That sounds great, how much will it cost to attend and where can I get tickets?
➡Spectator tickets may be purchased online via https://www.mondellopark.ie/jap-fest-sept-22/ Payment can also be made at the gate for spectator admission, €25 for adults and €15 for 13-16 teens and free admission for under 12’s.

❓Are there any activities for the kids?
➡Yes, we have numerous kids’ activities available for free as this is a fun day out for all of the family. Think face painting, bouncing castles, etc.
❓All of the family you say – so I can bring my dog?
➡ As much as we love dogs, we would ask you to leave your dog at home.
❓I have my car entered in the show, can I wash it on site?
➡ Unfortunately, we do not have car washing facilities on site, so all cars must reach us in show condition.
❓My car was accepted, I have my confirmation email, but I was unable to pay online, can you help me?
➡ Please call the office on 045 860200 to make payment.
❓Are all cars eligible for the prizes?
➡Yes, all cars will be judged equally by our independent judges – so no level of bribery to the crew will secure you a prize.
❓I have a savage Tezz that takes 2nd like a boss, can I throw it round?
➡No. Just no. Our show is being held on private ground and we are aiming to promote the positive side of the motoring industry, so please respect the grounds, follow the stewards’ guidelines at all times and do not give us any reason to ask you to leave.
❓I am arriving on Saturday afternoon, where can I park my car?
➡Show cars may be parked on site in the carpark. We will have security on site overnight.
